1. How does professional monitoring work? +

When a sensor trips, your panel sends a dual-path (cell + IP) signal to our UL-listed center. Operators verify the event—often with live video—and dispatch police, fire, orEMS in under 30 seconds, then text you real-time updates.

2. Can you use my existing alarm equipment? +

Yes. We perform free takeovers on most Honeywell, DSC, GE/Interlogix, and 2GIG panels. We inspect every zone, replace failed batteries, and connect the system to our monitoring for faster, local response—often at a lower monthly rate.

3. What’s the difference between NVR and cloud storage? +

An NVR records 4 K footage on-site for immediate play back even if the internet drops.Cloud VMS stores clips off-site for disaster redundancy and remote sharing. Many clients choose hybrid: 30 days local, critical cameras mirrored to cloud.

4. Will smart locks still work during a power outage? +

Absolutely. Battery-powered deadbolts keep functioning for months on a single set ofAAs. If Wi-Fi dies, the lock still responds to keypad codes or physical keys, and cellular alarm modules continue to send lock/unlock events.

5. Do video doorbells require a monthly fee? +

Live viewing is free. Optional cloud storage plans archive motion clips for7–30days.Bundle the doorbell with our camera package and cloud is included at no extra charge, saving about $60 per year.

6. Are your systems compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant? +

Yes.You can arm in“stay”mode, run lighting scenes, or ask for camera thumbnails via voice. For security, disarming and lock commands require a spoken PIN to prevent unauthorized use.

7. How often should smoke and CO detectors be replaced? +

UL recommends replacing smoke sensors every 10 years and CO sensors every 5. We log each device’s age in our portal and alert you when it’s time to swap—often during your annual service visit.

8. Do cameras violate HIPAA or PCI rules? +

Not when configured properly. We segment medical-record areas onto encrypted networks and mask card-holder screens at POS lanes. Footage is AES-256 encrypted and access-controlled to documented staff members only.

9. What happens if I move to a new home? +

Take the panel, keypad, and wireless sensors with you—most detach cleanly. We’ll reinstall them at your new address and update your certificate for insurance, often at a steep“existing-client”discount.

10. Can I arm the system remotely? +

Yes. The mobile app lets you arm, disarm, or check status from anywhere. Forgot to lock up? Enable Geo-Fence reminders that prompt you to secure the house when your phone leaves a preset radius.

11. How long is recorded video kept? +

Local NVRs hold15–90days depending on drive size and resolution. Cloud plans default to 30 days, with options up to one year for compliance.Motion-only recording extends storage without extra cost.

12. Do I need a landline or Wi-Fi? +

No landline needed. All panels ship with LTE cellular backup. Wi-Fi is optional for faster video clip uploads, but the system remains fully functional on cellular if internet service fails
